Port San Antonio Welcomes Amanda Lee Keammerer to Board of Directors

SAN ANTONIO — Nov. 20, 2025 — Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones has appointed Amanda Lee Keammerer to the Port San Antonio Board of Directors, adding a recognized leader in cybersecurity and innovation to the board’s ranks. 

Keammerer is the author of a bilingual children’s book, The ABCs of Cybersecurity, introducing cybersecurity and national security concepts to elementary-age students. 

Most recently, Keammerer worked for a government contractor, where she supported federal initiatives including the National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan and the Cyber Workforce Ecosystem Toolkit for the White House Office of the National Cyber Director. 

Previously, Keammerer launched and managed the gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator, a $1.1 million fund investing in global cybersecurity startups, and served as Vice President of Cybersecurity and Director of CyberSecurity San Antonio at the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. Earlier in her career, Keammerer was a policy advisor to the Federal Chief Information Officer and Federal Chief Information Security Officer at the White House. She's also held communication and advocacy roles with the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and the League of United Latin American Citizens National Office.

As an Air Education and Training Command Civic Leader and a proud SAISD alumna, Amanda has a proven track record of elevating San Antonio in local and national security sectors through innovative partnerships and strategic communications,” said Mayor Jones. “I'm looking forward to working with her and the Port to attract and expand high-tech and high-wage industries in our city, as well as ensure that these opportunities are accessible to more San Antonians of all ages."

Amanda’s background connecting national strategy with local opportunity makes her a most valuable addition to our board,” said Port Board of Directors Chair Margaret Wilson-Anaglia. “Her expertise in advanced technologies, coupled with her dedication to civic leadership, will strengthen our work to expand cybersecurity and innovation across our campus while supporting the Port’s ongoing creation of exciting opportunities for San Antonians.” 

“The Port plays an important role in our community’s innovation ecosystem. As someone born and raised in San Antonio, who comes from a military family, works in national security, and lives near the Port, I am excited to serve in this capacity and bring my expertise to the table,” said Keammerer. “I’m honored to be here to strategize with my Board colleagues and the Port team to showcase the campus, as well as help more people of all ages see themselves as part of this mission-critical work.” 

Keammerer earned her Master of Arts in Global Communication from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, where her double concentration focused on national security policy and IT policy. Keammerer earned a bachelor’s degree in Russian and Government from Smith College. She is a 2025 graduate of the Latinas in Cyber/Google Cybersecurity Certificate Program. 

Keammerer serves on advisory boards for Trinity University and the University of the Incarnate Word, represents JBSA-Fort Sam Houston as an Air Education and Training Command Civic Leader, and volunteers on the Family Service Neighborhood Place committee.
