NEW EXHIBIT AT MUSEUM INSPIRES KIDS, ACCELERATES TRAINING OF TOMORROW’S CYBERSECURITY INNOVATORS

02-19-2020

Port San Antonio is home to the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT). Since 2017, the museum has been an essential partner in inspiring and growing the talent of tomorrow’s tech leaders. To date, more than 20,000 students from throughout the region have participated in hands-on activities that include modeling lunar habitats on 3-D printers, designing and launching model rockets and building their own computers.

To bolster this exciting learning environment, SAMSAT has launched a new security operations center (SOC) that allows visitors to engage in cyber threat simulations. Training programs provide students with a first-hand look at being a cyber warrior—tackling simulated threats that exist today, such as data breaches and hacks against power plants and other critical infrastructure. This exhibit, which is also accessible to the public, showcases to students, families and professionals alike San Antonio’s unique abilities as one of the world’s leading capitals of cybersecurity innovations and talent.

Visitors are welcome every Saturday 10am to 5pm.
Admission is free.
